Six countries - Australia, Canada, Chinese Taipei, Dominican Republic, Japan and the United States - have confirmed that they will be sending a team to the first Women's Baseball World Cup, to be held from 30 July to 8 August in Edmonton, Canada. A further two countries will be announced in the next few days. The competition will begin with a 'round robin', followed by the semi-finals 1-4 and 2-3, then the game between the losers for the Bronze Medal and between the winners for the Gold Medal.
